Hi, One of our customers is starting to use Adobe Acrobat. So i checked the Hosts file and saw that all Adobe traffic is blocked Block Adobe Activation. Added those to the hosts file and it seems to have solved the problem for me (at least for now). You can prevent the application from calling-home by manipulating the system's Hosts file. One stumbling block is apparently Adobe's Display Postscript license fees. HowTo: Block Adobe Activation using the Hosts file (Updated Jan 2014) Adobe applications includes an activation mechanism since version 8.0 (CS) and later. From here just copy and paste the host file from 'Documents onto 'etc' thereby overwriting the original host file that you didnt have access to save to. From there open it up using notepad and paste in the list. Finally, I used Wireshark to inspect the network traffic, which showed connections to a bunch of new addresses. will announce a Mac-based text-entry system, called Softquad. Just copy the host file and paste it anywhere else like say 'Documents'.
I then tried using LuLu to block connections from Ps/Ai, which stopped the popup but led to crashing and freezing. I tried the hosts file fix mentioned here, but that didn't seem to do anything. Drag the Hosts file from the Finder window onto your desktop. I recently got the dreaded warning about Photoshop and Illustrator not being genuine/10 day expiration countdown. Enter /private/etc/hosts into the search field.
