For precise aiming, use First-Person Mode. To Spit, press the Flame Attack button while Spyro has something in his mouth, which is helpful for hitting specific, out of reach targets.

Hovering is unavailable in the first game, Spyro the Dragon. A small facet is that the player does have a degree of horizontal control with the Left Stick during a Hover. This move is essential if you want to cross the game’s longest gaps, as the vertical boost allows Spyro to get onto ledges he'd otherwise fall short of. The Hover gives Spyro a short vertical boost that finishes his Glide, allowing you to stop at a precise point. To Hover, press this button while Gliding. It’s required for getting to many essential places in the game. The third fundamental Spyro move, this allows Spyro to travel long distances in mid-air without a lot of descent. To Glide, press the Jump Button again while in mid-air. Remember that you can get a higher Jump if you hold down the Jump button, which is crucial to getting the most out of your Glides. Press this command to make Spyro jump into the air. It’s also pivotal in performing Charge Jumps, which carry Spyro further than a normal Jump. Charging is otherwise useful for crossing large distances quickly, but it will be cancelled out if Spyro hits a wall.

Large enemies cannot be Charged, however. Another core Spyro move, Charging has Spyro point his horns forward and charge at great speed, destroying Vases and killing enemies, including metal ones. Press this command to use the Charge Attack. Flame attacks are ineffective against metal objects and enemies, however. A fundamental Spyro move, the fire will spread out in a cone and follow Spyro’s head, destroying Baskets and killing small and Large enemies. Press this command to spit Spyro’s iconic Flame attack.

If you’re using First-Person View whilst Spyro is holding something in his mouth or has Superflame, the view will be in actual first-person and have a circle in the middle for precise aiming. Hold down this command to put the camera right behind Spyro’s head, then use the Left Stick to peer about. If your preference is for the original camera, you can activate it in the Options menu, which allows you to rotate the camera left and right with the triggers just like in the original game. In the Reignited, moving the camera is always assigned to the Right Analog Stick on the controller, which allows you to tilt the camera up and down to peer over ledges or up in the air to more thoroughly explore the environment. To move Spyro, use the Left Stick or the D-Pad, or the WASD/Arrow Keys on PC.
